Connecting the Extraordinary with the Exceptional

OUR PATNERS

Vladimir Radosavljević was born in 1971 in Belgrade ,Serbia.
After studying violin for 14 years ,and attending the University of Music in Belgrade ,he won the audition in the Teatre T as violinist in their orchestra in 1991. In 1993 Vladimir left Serbia to United States, where he was quickly introduced to bow repair by Joe Da Cunha and later trained under Michael Gerson, a student of Otto Erdesh. Through Gerson, Vladimir began doing occasional work for Jacques Francais.

By 1995, Vladimir was repairing bows for several shops in New York and Connecticut, including Brice Dupin de St. Cyr at Carnegie Hall and Constantin Popesku. Around this time, he began exploring bow making.  In 1998, Vladimir met Carlos Martins Del Picchia, trained at Bein & Fushi and Claire Givens. Together they opened a workshop in Brazil, where Vladimir made his first bows under daily supervision. He frequently returned to New York to present his work and continued learning from master bow maker Isaac Salchow.  He also benefited from the guidance of Christophe Landon.

Vladimir built an early collection of fine French bows—Tourte, Persois, Peccatte, Simon, Maline, Pajeot, and others—the study of which deeply shaped his craft.
In 2006, due to growing international demand, Vladimir returned to the United States, bringing select pernambuco wood reserved for his highest-quality bows. He soon connected with violinist/violist Eric Shumsky, who introduced him to elite players, many of whom acquired his bows. He also partnered with David Krieger of the Summit Music Festival, supporting young musicians and building a significant collection of his work.

That same year, Vladimir opened a workshop in Belgrade after receiving large commissions from the Belgrade Philharmonic and the Belgrade Radio Orchestra. Since then, countless musicians worldwide have adopted his bows.

Today, Vladimir is a world-renowned master bow maker, brings unmatched artistry rooted in the French bow-making tradition. His bows are played by elite musicians across the globe and are prized for their tonal richness, perfect balance, and uncompromising craftsmanship. With a legacy shaped by Europe’s premier music institutions and collaborations with industry luminaries, Vladimir’s work represents the pinnacle of the bow-making art.  He continues to craft bows in Savannah, Georgia, and Belgrade, with his work represented exclusively by Philip Greenberg, in collaboration with Sarn Oliver and Aaron Reiley of Guarneri House.
